Black History Month Projects

Hey Eagle Parents! Are you ready to join us in celebrating the rich culture and ancestry of Black History Month? We are beyond excited to invite you to our upcoming Black History Expo, From Generation to Generation, where we’ll showcase amazing black-owned businesses, projects created by our talented scholars, and an exclusive short film on February 22nd. Get ready to be inspired by the incredible stories and achievements of the black community!

Scholars will collaborate with their parents this year to create stunning art pieces, sculptures, videos, and more. We have attached an overview of each project, so check it out and sign up for the project your scholar will be working on using the link below. Included in the project details document you will find a list of approved people, books, and movies that correlate with certain projects. Please ensure that your scholar is compliant with all requirements. Remember that these projects are meant to be completed as a family so you can enjoy some quality family time while exploring the rich history of black culture.

Your scholars will be responsible for knowing all about their project and sharing the information about it orally with their teachers and classmates. They may also need your assistance writing or typing descriptions/summaries. Still, we encourage you to guide them and create a dialogue that allows them to dive deep into learning about black history. Some homework assignments will be substituted with time to work on their projects to ensure scholars have ample time to create their carefully crafted projects.

All projects are due on February 20th and must be labeled with your scholar’s name somewhere on the project. Remember that each project has limited space, so sign up as soon as possible to secure your spot. If you have any questions about signing up, click on the button at the bottom of the list labeled “Contact the signup sheet manager” or email, and we will assist you as soon as possible.

We can’t wait to see the creativity, attention to detail, and passion that your scholars put into their projects. Our Black History team will score the projects and record scores for the social studies/history subject. Let’s make this year’s Black History Expo a grand success and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of black history together!
