This semester, scholars have reviewed what sentences, phrases, and paragraphs are and how to write them. Additionally, we’ve begun forming and writing paragraphs, stories, and reports. If you’d like to continue sharpening your scholar’s writing skills at home, I ask that you require your scholar to practice writing paragraphs (3-5) sentences about one topic. Also, nightzookeeper.com may be helpful as a home practice website. Additionally, allowing your scholar to practice keeping a daily journal may improve their writing skills. Lastly, good writers tend to be avid readers! The more your scholar reads, the more they will be exposed to various ways to use words and a variety of sentence structures they can use in their own writing.
I’ve also attached our class grading rubric so you may see all the required components for your scholar’s written work in detail. Please advise if you have any questions or concerns.
All the best,
