I hope this message finds you well. As we progress through this semester, I wanted to share with you the progress your scholars have made in their writing skills. They have learned about sentences, phrases, and paragraphs and will begin writing short stories and reports. I encourage you to continue to support your scholar’s writing practice at home. One helpful tool is nightzookeeper.com, which provides exercises and activities to improve writing skills.
Additionally, journaling is a great way to practice writing and improve skills. Finally, encourage your scholar to read as much as possible. Reading is an excellent way to expose your scholar to different writing styles and structures, which can help them develop their unique voice.

Attached, you will find our class grading rubric, which outlines the required components for your scholar’s written work. Please know that the grading rubric is subject to change.
